Competitive Computing (C2) teamed with Inside Edge Software to design and develop a multi-day itinerary planner for the Vermont Vacation web site. The software enables visitors to collect lodging, dining, events and attractions of interest into an itinerary, arrange the items into a daily schedule and then plan driving routes between locations. Users can create site memberships and save and retrieve work in progress or previously saved itineraries. Principal Consultant, Bob LoCicero, served as Project Lead and as Co-Technical Lead on the project.
The multi-disciplinary team worked with the end client to develop the design. Paper prototyping was used early in the project to test usability before finalizing the design. The team also built a prototype of the membership system to enable clients to react and provide feedback.
The project was constructed over two major iterations, delivering the core functionality first and then adding the membership based features in a second iteration.
C2 and Inside Edge Software also met additional client objectives during the project, developing a logical database design for an events tracking project and developed a regression testing script for overall site functionality. For more see the client press release.
